My name is Dr. Jody Stanislaw and I am a naturopathic physician. After working with hundreds of patients, I have realized that the absolute most powerful way to promote health is to support each individual in optimizing their Four Pillars of Health, which are:

What is a Naturopathic Doctor?

Naturopathic medicine is a distinct primary health care system that combines traditional healing wisdom with modern scientific research to offer a holistic, safe, and gentle approach to health care. One of the main goals of naturopathic physicians is to support their patients in living a healthy lifestyle.  During The Sun Valley F.I.T. Experience, Dr. Jody Stanislaw presents her program called ‘The Four Pillars of Health’ in which clients focus on:

  2. Physical Movement
  3. Relaxation & Adequate Rest
  4. Emotoinal Well-being

…It may sound simple but having a strong foundation in The Four Pillars of Health is truly the most powerful and effective way to remain in good health.

Dr. Jody Stanislaw received her degree from the most acclaimed naturopathic medical school in the country, Bastyr University located in Seattle, WA. Only three other schools exist in the U.S….National College of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon, Southwest College of Natural Medicine in Arizona, and the University of Bridegport in Connecticut.

Naturopathic doctors are thoroughly trained primary care practitioners with a pre-med undergraduate degree and a 4-5 year doctorate degree. They are doctors that listen and take extra time to help guide you towards optimal health. They empower you by educating and sharing knowledge with you so that you understand how your body functions and what is involved with any ailment you may have.  Through teaching, they encourage you to take responsibility for your health.

One of the beauties of Naturopathic medicine is that ND’s are trained in a wide variety of therapies and will work with you to decide what the best treatment plan is for you. Dr. Jody Stanislaw is trained in the following modalities:

Clinical Nutrition – Naturopathic doctors emphasize the value of food as medicine. Digestive disturbances such as gas, bloating, acid reflux, constipation, diarrhea, and food sensitivities are areas of expertise. ND’s provide dietary education, prescriptions and doses on vitamins, minerals and other food based supplements.

Botanical Medicine – The medicinal value of plants has been known since ancient times, and in fact many of today’s most commonly used pharmaceuticals are derived from traditional medicinal herbs. ND’s use botanical medicines in many forms for a wide array of health concerns. Safety of herbs is often overlooked and ND’s will teach you about dosing and interactions of botanical medicines with pharmaceuticals to ensure safety and efficacy. Herbal medicines are prescribed as teas, tinctures, capsules, powders, steams, and topical applications to help heal disease and promote optimal health.

Lifestyle Counseling and Education – Each appointment allows enough time to gather information about all aspects of your health…from your diet and sleep patterns, to how you feel physically and emotionally. All of these areas are part of a holistic approach to health care. Tools are given to clients to help reduce stress, improve diet and sleep habits, to aid in healthy relationships, address any family concerns, and for finding time for physical movement.
